SCID is a primary immune deficiency. The defining characteristic is usually a severe
defect in both the T- & B-lymphocyte systems.
The PID Webring is designed to help those looking for information on any of the Primary
Immune Deficiencies find relevant web sites.
Children's Organ Transplant
COTA's primary mission is to ensure that no U.S. citizen is ever denied a life-saving
transplant or access to a transplant waiting list, due solely to the lack of funds. Our
secondary focus is to promote organ donations and to provide public education on all
aspects of the organ donation process.
The First Family Pledge
Transplantation of organs and tissue has become one of the most remarkable success stories
in medicine, now giving tens of thousands of desperately ill Americans each year a new
chance at life and returning them to the love of their families.
Family Pledge Congress, April 14th
More than 200 transplant kids from all 50 states, ranging in age from 2 to 9, will be
flying into Washington on April 14th for the First Family Pledge Congress on Organ and
Tissue Donation, where they will publicly thank Members of Congress from their state for
demonstrating leadership in supporting the First Family Pledge organ and tissue donation
initiative. The Kentucky Page
